Well, this is quite unsupported. It basically ignores at least two aspects: That private school tend to be more flexible in their choice of curricula, and that private schools tend to be more flexible and adaptive to the needs of their students due mainly to smaller size and absence of massive regulations. How this affects the overall performance can actually cut both ways, but saying that everything is only due to population selection is simply not true. It is contradicted by the fact that some public schools show better performance than private school.
