[Phys-l] Text Understanding Physics

I'm considering using the text Understanding Physics for an algebra based physics course (AP Physics B) that is intended to be equivalent to a college freshman course.
The Understanding Physics text does include unit vector notation, and the use of integrals in some samples.  However it also shows the algebraic representation for the appropriate situations.

Is there evidence for or against this approach?
