This reminds me of the article in the "New Scientist" (ca. 1970) that keeping the temp. in National trust houses 10 C (I presume not F) above ambient was sufficient to prevent mold and other damage. Originally they had kept in the + 18 C. This was a great savings in Winter. In Summer probably only heated at night, or when open for tourists.

bc wonders if the chillers were kept at the same "level", as when the buildings occupied or reduced à la the Nat. Trust?
