This erroneous response is based upon a pun on the word "outside".
The quote is: "Something outside the visible universe..." This makes good sense if the phrase means "something invisible". It makes no sense, and is unsupportable, if, as the posting suggests, the phrase means "at a distance greater than that to the visible horizon.."

The Answer

Yes. In the Sept 5-11 issue of New Scientist there is an article about 9
“scientific mysteries”. Five are in the astronomy & physics areas. One
of them is called “dark flow”. Galaxies in one part of the sky (between
Centaurus and Vela) seem to be moving toward an unseen object exerting a
gravitational force. Quote from the article “Something outside the
visible universe appears to be pulling on galaxy clusters.” Work was
done by Sasha Kashlinsky at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Read
