Is there evidence for energy and matter greater than can be accounted for in the observable universe?

The Answer

Yes. In the Sept 5-11 issue of New Scientist there is an article about 9 “scientific mysteries”. Five are in the astronomy & physics areas. One of them is called “dark flow”. Galaxies in one part of the sky (between Centaurus and Vela) seem to be moving toward an unseen object exerting a gravitational force. Quote from the article “Something outside the visible universe appears to be pulling on galaxy clusters.” Work was done by Sasha Kashlinsky at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.
