Re: [Phys-l] cooling hints

Hi,

My A/C unit has a ramp up and ramp down on the distribution fan. It drains the last bit of cool out of the system and ducts. It is also more comfortable as there are no blasts of cold air (or hot air in the winter).

About 5 years ago, we replaced our 25 year old A/C unit. Electric bills for the peek summer months is $125 - $200 per month lower.

Thanks,
Roger

I wonder if there is a thermostat that could keep the fan running for a
little bit after the normal cutoff. It should not be a big cost item
because most thermostats are now digital, but I suspect the savings might be
small. But even a couple of percent would be welcome during the Houston
high cost summers.
