Why is there a Media Blackout on Nuclear Incident at Fort Calhoun in Nebraska?

What's the definition of blackout?

Searching my local paper -- nada!

"salinas californian" OR salinascalifornian +nuclear +"fort calhoun"

Two articles (26, 27 june) in the rival Monterey Herald. (Haven't fully read -- just searched)

What I did read was all danger downplayed, can't happen here, etc.

Since I don't watch corporate TV news and not on BBC or The (PBS) News Hour; that's a black out.

bc agrees left wing (nut?) exaggeration, maybe.

p.s. we sub. the Herald and I didn't see the articles -- back pp. well hidden???

Google thinks there are over a thousand articles

Also, not a flash in the pan but rather a pronounced ramp-up
over the last month or so.

I've known about it for a while. You could see it coming. I even alluded
to it in this forum back on 05/02/2011 01:01 PM.
