Discussing parental selection
bias towards universities, I recall someone saying, " ...better to
be top dog at Northern Illinois than to be one of the crowd at
Havard..." I deduced that NIU is a smaller school?

NIU has a bit more than 25 000 students, whereas Harvard has around 6700
undergraduates and around 12 400 graduate students. NIU is bigger.
However, with most students at Harvard achieving an A average, it is
somewhat harder to stand out than at NIU.
