The ocean floor is not flat. Deep trenches are often found around the
Pacific Ring-of-Fire.

A quick Google Image search shows many sites.

The Sumatran 'Continental Shelf' is quite close (horizontally) to the
Ocean Basin (floor).
There have GOT to be serious landslide potential in there.
