[Phys-L] Switching topics (Was: Elevators)

Oh no, it is much more fun to react to the latest message. My
daughter brought home a game that is going around her college. One
person writes a statement on a piece of paper, then the next one gets
it and draws a picture about it. The picture is passed to the third
person who then writes a sentence about it, and so on. If is a
variant of telephone where the representation switches with each pass.
After a few passes the information is unrecognizable and completely
hilarious.

Actually this game brings home the difficulty students have when
switching between pictorial, graphical, descriptive, and mathematical
representations of physics.

After all this is the season for merry posts, and fun. After looking
at student papers anything is a relief.
