Re: Simulations

Larry sez -
How about this for an argument (for the sake of argument)?:
If one simple computer language were clearly superior to all the rest,
natural selection would dictate that over time it _would_ become the
dominant language. It would just happen. Good argument, huh?

No. There are too many programming instructors who do no programming in a
useful application themselves (Just like there are too many calculus
teachers who do not use calculus) These _tools_ should be taught by the
people who use them. Calculus should be taught by physics instructors. And
computer types should give up on the abominable Pascal (which is taught only
because it forces one to use modular techniques, which makes computer types
comfortable.) Pascal and C look to be counterproductive for those who are
occasional programmers, but who are you going to get to teach Basic?

Just me over here in my corner.
