Re: HTML

Ok, I now understand that I have a antiquated mailer, which does not
understand HTML:

Eudora 2.2 running and Netscape Nav 3 under WIN31

I don't want to go to WIN95 -- not wanting to trade the foibles of WIN31
which I am used to for those of WIN95 which will be a new unpleasant
experience -- I hope to skip those and go directly to the foibles of the
next version. I was waiting for the new Netscape to settle down before
installing that. So what should I do?

1) Nothing -- My poverty suits this.
2) Upgrade to Eudora 3 or what ever?
3} Give in and go to WIN95 (which I already have, but haven't installed)
4) Go to a new mailer -- Is new Netscape the answer here??? Is cost is
within my budget. (Netscape 3 is really inadequate as a mailer.)
5) Is the new Netscape called Communicator 4? But has it settled down?
6) Does the best solution require me to go to WIN95? Yuch!

Comments? What have list members done?

Do others on the list get msgs in HTML format???

Why is that???

At least some current mailers, such as Communicator 4.0, permit the
imbedding of html code in outgoing email messages. Since html is just
alphabetic, the listserver passes the messages on to you with the code
intact. Likewise current mailers display incoming text with the
specified html attributes.

What do I do with them???

Sounds like you're using an old mailer which doesn't know about html.
In that case, your only hope (aside from upgrading to a current version
of your mailer) is that phys-l contributors will voluntarily suspend the
html stuff when they send in notes to the list. This is probably a vain
hope.
