Re: Physics programs

Two year programs seem to be good for two things. One can get a job as a
technician or one can transfer to a 4 year school. The appropriate curriculum
for the technician is often worked out with potential employers, the curriculum
for the transfer student usually mimics the curriculum for the school to which
the student is likely to transfer. Someone asked what you are doing in
engineering. This is important. If you have an engineering program some
cooperation and coordination would seem important. If you have no
engineering a two year program should probably attempt to meet the needs of
those going into engineering as well as physics. In either case you are
probably looking at math through DE, Calc based Physics, Chemistry, and
a couple other physics courses in your field of interest. Realistically, there
is a lot more demand for engineering than there is for physics.
