Re: Physics programs

Kyle: Is your department currently envolved in any formal pre-engineering
programs? What courses do you currently offer?

About 6-7 years ago or so (when the physics job market was not so bad as it
is now) our campus got approval for a BA physics degree program. We got no
money to start the program so it never started. We are currently revisiting
the idea of starting the program.

Can anyone point me to relevant information which would support (or not
support for that matter) starting a BA degree in physics at this time? I
have some local information but...

Background: Small commuter campus (of around 5000 students- probably half
are part time) in the Lousiville, KY metro area, one other state supported
program (at UofL) locally, BA degrees on this campus in the usual things
including chemistry, math, computer science, biology, geography, one full
time physicist (me), two part timers off and on, graduate degrees in
education and buisness.
