I understand the moon is “withdrawing” from the earth, because of the tidal interaction. This means the “friction” loss will be reduced to the point that the solar induced tide will dominate? Does the earth “withdraw” from the sun also, no? Will this withdrawal result in orbital modifications resulting in collisions before envelopment by the expanding sun?
