Great idea! It would have to be during a lunar eclipse at sunrise/sunset?
Since the angular size of the sun isn't zero, the reflectors would still
light up long before the alignment became perfect, so partial eclipses
might still give results. The earth's shadow on the moon would be
surrounded by a wide band which, if a reflector was in that band, would
throw light back towards you.

Interesting. And if it should happen that the reflector happened to
be in the center of the face of the moon directed toward us (I don't
know if this ever happens for the location of Tranquility base),
would we be able to see a reflection of the Poisson spot on the moon,
due to the constructive interference of the diffraction of the sun's
rays around the earth?
