Re: [Phys-L] Ex: Re: coronavirus preparedness

Bill,

I readily admit that I have no skin in the game and have done no research of my own, but I trust those experts who have and think the final verdict on this “controversy” has been in for some time.

So I’m curious to know how you manage to dismiss this kind of thing:

Do you think they are making some kind of dumb mistake or that they are simply lying?

Sam,
- You are speaking without doing the homework I suggested.
- There are no short cuts to becoming knowledgeable.
- Especially your own relatives and dependents are relying on you, as a most intelligent and well-read person, to guide them on this.
- How is a 4-year-old to become able to authoritatively guide those responsible for his well-being in making the best choices?
- He can only be a helpless victim.
- As I say, exhaustively self-inform on both sides of the issue, then decide for yourself where the truths must lie.
- I assert that the children of ourselves and of others have a right to care by maximally knowledgeable adults.
- Still reluctant to self inform? I suggest full-time volunteering in a facility which cares for child and adult autism victims.

Bill,

The link to autism is extremely weak at best. There is a preponderance of evidence disputing any link between vaccines (and their extra ingredients) and autism.

Considering the consequences of measles, while I do sympathize with those who have severe reactions to the vaccine (and there are some, but an extremely tiny percentage), the cost of getting measles is far greater! Look at the consequences of measles. Compare that to the cost of a vaccine. I'll take my chances with a vaccine. Same for flu... The cost of spreading the disease is far worse the miniscule potential harm from the vaccine.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong!

See documentary, Autism: Made in the USA.

And there is also a newer documentary.

Search “vaccine fraud”

I wrote the transcript for Autism..., and it is posted online.

This is complex - you will not even have a sketchy understanding until you have invested at least 40 hours self educating on both sides of this controversial issue, half of which is driven by money.

Flu and coronavirus symptoms are similar. Confusion is not helpful.

Flu vaccine will not protect against coronavirus per_se, but it will keep you from being a burden on diagnostic and treatment facilities.

Also, it will keep you from getting quarantined while they figure out what you have and what you don't have.

Furthermore, coronavirus on top of flu will almost certainly kill you.

Don't panic. This is nowhere near the worst-case scenario. However, it is bad, and nobody really knows how bad it is. So prepare now.
-- Frequently washing your hands helps.
-- Staying home if you're feeling sick helps.
-- Getting a flu shot helps.
A vaccine administered now takes a couple of weeks to become effective.
If you wait until you're sure you need it, it's too late.

Shop around. Ask for a "quadrivalent" flu shot. Quadrivalent is better if they guessed wrong about which strains of flu to include in the trivalent vaccine.

If you're over 65 or have chronic health issues, ask for "high-dose quadrivalent." It exists, but not everybody carries it. If they ask you to choose high-dose "OR" quadrivalent, say no and keep shopping around.
