Logic suggests a mole "should" be defined as the number
of particles in 12 KILOgrams of ^12C, but nope, it's
just 12 grams.

In principle there exists a kilogram-mole as well as
the usual gram-mole, but the latter is standardized
as one of the SI base units, and is "the" mole, while
the former is almost unheard-of in practice nowadays.
