Earlier versions (current also?) of OSX's mail app. (appropriately titled mail) also had (has?) this feature. I used it w/, IIRC, some effect.

Now spammers change their false source, so even TMDA filter doesn't work.


bc thinks charging a nominal fee would eliminate all but the highly directed spam. He would gladly pay a cent or two for each missive he sends to eliminate the 500 ** he receives weekly.

This was an early and no longer useful way to fight spam.
