Re: [Phys-l] WHAT ARE "EXCESSIVE BOUNCES" ?

Not a correction - but suggesting a possibility.

Someone else reports that the 're-apply' url was fake.
Could be that some one got ahold of some Phys-L addresses and was perpetrating a hoax of some sort.

If you were indeed NOT getting the usual plethora of Phys-L posts - then your server was probably having a bad day.
If you WERE still getting the posts - then it could have been a hoax of some sort.

If that really IS your Phys-L password - then you will want to change it.
It's not a very secure security system that even HAS the ability to send the password in plaintext.

I think PHYS-L has sent posts to your server that are refused. I
think that's what's mean by bouncing. Usually the reason for the
bounce is the server is "down". Sometimes it (to be
anthropomorphic) thinks it's spam or contains a virus, etc. and
"bounces it.

bc awaits correction.
