Only before one purchases the spk. Finding the Z(w) [also the Z (power)] is very simply done w/ a variable resistance (preferably one w/ low inductance!) W/ a low Z supply insert the R in series and adjust 'till the PDs are equal. The only disadvantage of this method (AFAICT) is the damping factor, as described by a previous poster is reduced.

Contrary to that posters claim the engineer I worked for (ca 1955) (PbATA) said sometimes (admittedly w/ a high end amp.) inserting a little resistance would make the system sound better! He also designed an inexpensive speaker system that performed rather well using series parallel connected drivers that were: 1, oval, and 2, sl. different, so that in his phrase "each was damped by its brother."

A final boring? (not) story. He won at the Vegas consumer electronics w/ a system that included a larger area capacitor microphone to incorporate over all neg. feedback.

p.s. OTOH to find the resonances (accentuate them) one must decouple the speaker (system) from the source w/ an appropriate resistance. AND not only are woofers isolated from squawkers, and tweeters w/ filters, but that engineer isolated them with the filters before separate amplifiers of differing appropriate powers. My first job was cutting the holes for the tube sockets, etc. Very "high end".
