Re: [Phys-l] Peer Instruction, of course. Was: Fwd: New Mazur Group Publication

Of interest to me, certainly.

I was wondering when, if ever, this topic was going to come up.
In teaching the technical design and operational details of an early Digital Equipment compact tape
of iconoclastic design, I warned the (adult) group that after I reviewed the method for
reading an identifier code off a tape in both the forward and reverse direction to provide
the same decode from its backwards inverted version, I would ask one of the group
to explain it again to the rest of us - using a code diagram that stretched half way
round the room.

This appeared to work well. I thought of it as interactive/participative.

I am writing to let you know that a new publication by my group on peer instruction, entitled "Peer Instruction: From Harvard to Community Colleges" has appeared in print.
