There are two reasons this would likely balloon. (1) More and more
publishers and other venders will want in. (2) There is an interesting
interpretation of "occasional" going on out there. Have you noticed that if
you check the box on a vendor's webpage that indicates you are willing to
get occasional updates and announcements of new products, that occasional
turns out to be multiple times a day? It's essentially free advertising
directly to the target group, and they can't contain themselves. They just
barrage you with emails. I think occasional means once or twice a month.
They think occasional means twice a day every day.
