Sorry, John D.  Mea culpa.  I rashly assumed that anyone following this 
particular iteration of the thread would recognize that Rick T's 
philosophical disagreement was with John C's postings related to pedagogy. 
In my zeal to comment, I overlooked that there was another "John" who posts 
here.  Hopefully someone will find the contents of my post worth commenting 
on as well.
