Sorry, John D. Mea culpa. I rashly assumed that anyone following this particular iteration of the thread would recognize that Rick T's philosophical disagreement was with John C's postings related to pedagogy. In my zeal to comment, I overlooked that there was another "John" who posts here. Hopefully someone will find the contents of my post worth commenting on as well.

I have no idea where this is coming from. I agree with what Rick has
posted on this topic; my only comment on his remarks was to explicitly
agree with him. Unless I've missed something, he hasn't commented on
my remarks at all.
