[Phys-L] Re: Stories from Harpers: Radioactive Boyscout



I was responding to my understanding of a story alleging that
someone had collected radium from old watches and used it
create some sort of nuclear reactor. If that is the allegation, I
don't need to read the story. By analogy, I would not waste my
time on a story about a visitation from inhabitants of an asteroid.

I'm confused. Do you believe that this story as
published in Harper's Magazine was made up or heavily
embellished? My school has ProQuest and it was easy
enough to look up the article. A more or less complete
