Chemistry and Physics Teachers Improving Science Education
Meeting Announcement and Interest Survey-Please RSVP by September

Have you ever wished you had someone to brainstorm about lab activities?
Have you ever wished you could find just the right demo or activity
to bring a topic to life for your students?
Have you ever seen or read a demo or lab activity that you just
weren't comfortable trying on your own? (You all may have more
appropriate questions to ask)

Then this is the opportunity for you.

Refreshments available at 4:30 PM in the lobby of
Severance Hall
Where: College of Wooster, Severance Chemistry Room 123

Directions: http://admissions.wooster.edu/area/ , Severance is
building #22 on the campus map
Parking: You can park in any visitor or staff lot at this time of day
RSVP: by September 30, 2005 to jamburgey@wooster.edu so we can plan
the space and refreshments

Continuing the enthusiasm and energy from the Flinn Scientific
Foundation Summer Workshop for High School Chemistry Teachers at the
College of Wooster (July 11-15, 2005), WE want to invite you to
become part of a collaborative group of high school chemistry and
physics teachers. Who are WE-Scott Houmard and Jim Wherley, High
School Chemistry Teachers New Philadelphia High School and Judy
Amburgey-Peters, Associate Professor of Chemistry College of Wooster
and site coordinator for the three Flinn workshops that have been
held at Wooster. The three of us are excited about the synergistic
creativity that a collaborative group of committed Teachers can
produce that will enhance science education for our students.

Below we provide an outline of the schedule for the first meeting as
well as a brief survey. Your feedback is essential to focus the
activities to meet the NEEDS of the group members. Help us figure out
what you want and need to keep teaching chemistry and physics FUN!
