[Physltest] [Phys-L] Re: PasPort photogates

I see I didn't read your post, again!

And -- someone else can supply the formula for when one knows the two
speeds and the distance between instead of the time, assuming constant
acceleration.

bc, w/ another serious Sr. moment (off the wall).

The clue is the one cm. Time the first one cm blockage; this is the
speed (millis/ cm); time the second one.. Subtract and divide by the
distance between the two gates.

Voila!

bc

Hi folks!

I am trying out the PASCO PasPort system and DataStudio.

I can't figure out how to use DataStudio software, PasPort photogate
port and two photogates to calculate acceleration the way I can with
ScienceWorkshop:
a glider with a 1 cm flag passes thru two photogates
accel. = (v2-v1)/(time between gates).

Any suggestions?
(I know I could use a small picket fence a motion sensor, but would
rather use the method described above)

Thanks in advance,
Owen
