AAPT NEW BOARD MEMBERS
AAPT would like to congratulate its newly elected Board members for
2005.
Harvey Leff, was elected vice-president for 2005, and will serve as
president-elect in 2006, president in 2007, and past-president in 2008.
John Roeder, was elected Member-at-Large High School Representative for
a
three-year term. Mary Beth Monroe, was reelected to serve as Secretary
for
a two-year term. Randolph Peterson, who was Vice Chair of Section
Representatives, will assume the role of Chair of Section
Representatives
for a two-year term. Alan Gibson, was elected by the Section
Representatives to serve as Vice Chair of Section Representatives for a

2005 U.S. PHYSICS TEAM APPLICATIONS
January 21 is the postmark deadline for high school students to send in
their applications for the 2005 U.S. Physics Team. More information on
the
program can be found at http://www.aapt.org/Contests/olympiad.cfm
OUTSTANDING TEACHING ASSISTANT AWARD
It is not too early to think about nominating your teaching assistant
for
the AAPTs Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. A department chair of
any
university with a graduate physics program may nominate one TA at their
institution. The nominating chairperson must be an AAPT member.
