Many of us Ph.D.'s actually are excellent teachers, thank you very much. Having performed some searches myself, I'm certain that the search committee at Arizona will be able to find plenty of highly qualified candidates that meet the stated academic criteria and who are vastly superior teachers, too.

Just a note.

By requiring a PhD recipient for this position you are prohibiting a
large number of candidates who can do a vastly more superior job from
applying. It is common knowledge that PhD recipients are not always
qualified to deliver classroom instruction. As you may already know,
they are actually prohibited and discouraged from doing so while
earning their doctorate. When will the university community acknowledge
this?

Not to sound arrogant, but I could do this job hands down better than
any PhD ever could. Yet, I'm automatically disqualified from even
applying. It's only the student who suffer and we all know that.
