Subject: Re: fancy symbols --- utf-8 email test

Hi --

I asked Michael Edmiston to test utf-8 on a couple of microsoft
platforms. The results are:

Office Computer, Windows XP
Using Outlook.... all characters display properly
Using Internet Explorer and Exchange interface to mail system...
cannot see h-bar and naught.
Home Computer, Windows XP
Using Netscape 7.2 and Exchange interface to mail system... all
characters display properly
Using Internet Explorer and Exchange... cannot see del, h-bar, naught
Using Outlook Express... cannot see del, h-bar, naught

All this refers to the following test pattern:

Maxwell equations:
??E = ?/??
??E = -?B/?t
c? ??B = ?E/?t + j/??
??B = 0

Schr?dinger equation:
i ? ??/?t = H ?

The original spelling of Zhukovsky:
?????????
