Have "we" discussed RPF's doing this in a basement at CIT?

One of those present recounted it at a(n) NCN-AAPT meeting after most
had left the room.

bc, who remembers very little -- a grad student built it and they
discussed what it'd do before turning on?

The rotary vane stopped when water was sucked into it, and only moved when
the pump stopped with a slight water regurgitation back out of the saprinker.
It rotated in the usual way when water was expelled in air, or under water.
