JANUARY 22 - DEADLINE FOR 2004 U.S. PHYSICS TEAM APPLICATION
The 2004 U.S. Physics Training Camp is scheduled May 21 - 31, 2004 in
the
Physics Department at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. The
U.S. Physics Team will be competing at the 35th International Physics
Olympiad Competition in Pohang and Gyeongju, South Korea, July 15 - 23,

MARCH 25 - DEADLINE FOR PHYSICS BOWL ENTRY FORMS
TEACHERS WIN PRIZES JUST FOR ENTERING
High school teachers, enter your students in Physics Bowl 2004 and
you'll
receive a Texas Instrument Slide Cover and an Educational Resource Kit
just for participating in the contest. Winning students and their
teachers
are eligible to receive other prizes, and receive national recognition
for
their school. Students will take a 40-question, timed, multiple-choice
test in the period of April 8-April 21, 2004. Exam questions are based
on
topics and concepts covered in a typical high school physics course. To
enhance the distribution of awards, Division I is for first-year
students
and Division II is for second-year students. To enter, each school must
complete and mail an entry form and enclose payment. Exams are sold in
packets of five at $12.50 per packet plus shipping and handling. For

AAPT members can attend, free of charge, all sessions sponsored by both
the Forum on Education and the Forum on History of Physics at the April
