Re: Non-conservative forces in a liquid dielectric



Panofsky & Phillips raised the question (rhetorically) and answered it. Their
contention is that the reduced force is not accounted for by the explicit
Coulomb forces alone - the increase in hydrostatic pressure (in the E field
region) must also be taken into account.

| is the 2nd edition, they must have raised it even earlier). So there are quite
| old archives I could go to. What I cannot understand is why I should be alone
| in this journey.
