Summer Workshops on
“Workshop Physics with Health Science Applications” will be offered during
Summer 2003 (NSF CCLI Grant # 9981031).
New hands-on, minds-on FLUIDS, OPTICS and WAVES & LASERS activities with
health science applications have been developed for an algebra-based
physics curriculum. In addition, the whole curriculum has been redesigned
for a laboratory-based environment. Workshop participants will work
through the new units in the mornings. The afternoons will consist of
general sessions on the whole curriculum, the teaching techniques used,
physics education research and other topics.
Dates and Locations:
Grand Valley State University, MI: June 16 – 20, 2003
Texas Tech University, TX: July 14 – 18, 2003
20 participants per workshop will be accepted.
On-campus accommodation will be available. On-campus accommodation and
meals will be paid for by grant funds.
