looking for research and resources about web based labs

i am interested in finding some resources about web based labs. i need
references  to both research and projects that have some applets that can be
used in web-based lab activities.
What i mean by web-based labs is the type of web-based activities that can
be used by students to collect, analyze date and then find results and draw
conclusions.
Any suggestions.
