Laboratory Coordinator in Physics
The Physics Department at DePaul University announces an opening for a Laboratory Coordinator (LC). The position starts on July 1, 2002 and is on a twelve-month renewable contract with full benefits. The LC will typically teach two lab courses per academic year, and coordinate the conduct of labs taught by the Physics Department Faculty throughout the year. The LC will also have primary responsibility for maintaining, organizing, and purchasing laboratory and demonstration equipment, including computer equipment in instructional labs and classrooms. Finally, the LC will assist in overseeing and training undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants. Undergraduate and graduate (M.S. or Ph.D.) degrees in physics or a closely allied field are required, and prior teaching experience is desirable. Experience in electronics, in using the Pasco and Vernier interfaces for lab courses, and in the maintenance of personal computers is also desirable.
