Re: Thermal Energy - thermalization of rotational energy

We have been concerned with the thermalization of internal, macroscopic
energy modes. How about the thermalization of internal, microscopic
modes?

Compare an unburnt matchstick (along with the surrounding air) at room
temperature with this same matchstick/air burning "on its own". The
temperatures are very different. What has been thermalized? What was it
before?
(Just a probe for clarification.)
