not sure what you mean -- two conducting spheres attached with a
conductor must, in the static case, be at the same potential. They do
discuss two overlapping spheres for solving a polar distribution of
charge on one sphere, and two, a >> b, conductively connected conducting
spheres to show the field is greater near a conductor of smaller radius
....
