LoggerPro problems with Macs G-3s?

We're having intermittent but continuing problems using
the Vernier hardware/software system on our Mac G-3's. I
was wondering if anyone else was having these problems or
knew of any solutions.

The symptoms are that either:
(1) the "collect" button will disappear on off the
LoggerPro screen
(2) the LoggerPro software will crash with either a
Type 2 or Type 11 error or
(3) the entire Mac will just freeze.

The only way to get back to normal running is to reboot the
Mac completely. We have one of these problems about twice per
two-hour labs with 10 computer stations running (i.e. once per
every 10 "computer-hours"). We are running thru the Real Time
Physics labs.

We've been on the phone with the Vernier tech support folks
for about the last year and they've tried to be very helpful
but we haven't had much luck. Here's what we've tried so far:
1) updated LoggerPro to the newest version of 2.1.1
2) updated the Mac OS from 8.6 to 9.1
3) changed from using the serial interface ULI to the
USB interface LabPro's
4) updated every driver/extension we could think of on the
Mac.
5) rebuilt the desk top after every crash.

If you are running the Vernier stuff on G-3's WITHOUT any problems,
I would still appreciate a reply either via the list or off-line.
If it really is just us that's having this problem, that is might be
a clue as to where to look.

Thanks.
