Ludwik, if I have surprised _you_, I clearly have misspoken.

Let me re-phrase: W&Q are actions which are done to/by the system -- E is
the internal energy and delta E =W+Q.

Some people call Q "heat", but usually do so sort of "inappropriately".

In my senility I must confess not knowing what THENA is/means --- as a
matter of fact my Martian friends don't have a clue either.
