Harold,
We use "Concepts of Modern Physics" by Arthur Beiser, 5th edition. It is published by McGraw Hill. The text is very readable and provides a good base of information.

Subject: Modern Physics Textbook
Can anyone recommend a textbook for a modern physics course? This course follows
our introductory physics sequence and is usually taken in the second semester of
the sophomore year. We are looking for a book that is up-to-date and readable.
Thanks for any input you can provide.
