a quasi- uncertaintly principle for clarity! (was Energy)

Twenty years ago, I was impressed when our then Math Dept. head made
the observation the Calculus and physics books AREN'T written to
increase one's understanding.

Rather they are written so that nothing in them can possibly be
MISunderstood, with the usual result that very little progress is
made with understanding.

Things haven't changed much since then.

I think it goes to show that there may be limit of
clarity such that, when you pass this limit in efforts to improve
clarity, clarity is actually diminished.
