Re: Earth Tides

The Apollo folks did put some seismic sensors on the moon and 'heard'
the oscillations that followed meteor impacts. The moon is plastic
enough to 'ring' so it prolly is plastic enough to have the dynamic
tidal bulges that many people expect to see on a uniform but
deformable sphere.

Since the moon is 'locked in' to always face the earth, it's earth
caused bulge would be static. Solar tide on the moon would be dynamic.

If the moon did not always face the earth, would it's earth
caused bulge still be static?? IOf not, why not??
