Gang,

Actually one gets much more accurate results by measuring the
positions of the points and fitting to a parabolic curve. The
second order parameter is just one-half g.

Interesting observation!

However,
I suppose that part of point is that I'm not necessarily trying to get
super-accurate results for a measurement of g with this lab; but I'm more
interested in reinforcing basic ideas in kinematics.

And it is nice that we have a basic number that we can compare to when it is
all said and done; but that is not the main in my opinion.
