we'd better avoid confusion by not using "resonance" during the
discussion.

If "sympathetic vibrations" sounds too archaic, then how about "coupled
oscillators". Does resonance mean "coupled oscillators with identical
frequencies", or does it mean "natural frequency of a SINGLE oscillator."

I believe that it means both, and this is causing confusion.
