Misconceptions assessments?:

Are my experiences unique? Out of 13 students in my class, 9 agreed that
a scientific law is a scientific theory that has been proven correct.

I maintain that only in mathematics class can anything be PROVEN to
be true. And these 'proofs' are based wholly on ASSUMED axioms and
postulates!

We still talk about the 'Theory' of Relativity and of Evolution but
Newton's 'Laws' of motion.

Is it only elapsed time that transforms theories into laws? (If no
DIS-proof is found)
