The deadline for submission of all abstracts for the 2001 AAPT Winter Meeting Joint with AAS in San Diego, CA is Friday, September 1. Please submit electronically through the web at:

2) HIGH SCHOOL GRANTS FOR INNOVATIVE TEACHING
AAPT has set aside $1000 in grant money to help support several high school teachers who are involved in innovative physics programs or activities that seek to increase student enrollment or to enhance student achievement in physics. Grant amounts can range from $100 to $500. At the planning retreat held prior to the AAPT Summer Meeting at Guelph, the retreat participants drafted a vision statement, a mission statement, and statements of three critical issues.
