Job Description:
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Assist with laboratory setups to ensure safe and functional operation
in a timely manner.
Maintain teaching laboratory and demonstration equipment as required
by supervisor.
Interact with Graduate Teaching Assistants regarding day to day
laboratory operations.
Report problems which would impair laboratory operations.
Work non-standard hours as required.
Perform written assessment of teaching laboratories as requested by
supervisor.
Maintain computer systems including networked PCs and Unix work
stations for teaching laboratory and departmental use.


Qualification Requirements:
Education: Associates degree in physics or related field, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience from which
comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Experience: One year general laboratory experience including use of
instrumentation and equipment. Experience with computer and software
support in networked environment. Experience using personal
computers and word processing and spreadsheet/database software

Desirable:
Bachelor's degree in physics or related field.
Broad-based experience with microcomputers.
Electronics background/experience.
Experience using Microsoft (Word and Excel) and common data
acquisition software.

Required:
Demonstrated ability to perform minor repairs to
laboratory/demonstration equipment without assistance.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritization, and
organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
Excellent decision making capabilities.
Strong equipment management skills.
Demonstrated familiarity with data acquisition and analysis systems.

Salary Range: MINIMUM $24,253 - MAXIMUM $32,812
