Presenters and Workshop Hosts Needed for Summer and later workshops:
(Forward to any "Dynamic Teachers" who you think might be interested)

Clemson University and the University of Dallas have developed 4 Curriculum
projects in Partnership with Casio, Inc. These new projects include:
(Algebra II, Titled Clemson Algebra Project, released in Summer 1999):

Middle School Math (Clemson Middle School Project),
Calculus-Precalculus (Clemson Calculus Project),
Geometry (Clemson Geometry Project), and
Integrated Physics and Chemistry ( IPC project, developed
by Richard Olenick at University of Dallas).

Workshop Presenters will be trained and “Certified” by Clemson University
in late June for 2.5 days, and then five day workshops will be scheduled
and held in July, August, and shorter workshops will be held in the 2000-01
School Year. Casio will pay for all expenses to attend the initial
training. You will be provided with a complete set of Casio equipment, and
then for the workshops that are scheduled for Summer 2000 you will receive
$2000 per week for being the workshop presenter. For future workshops you
will receive a daily rate of $400 per day. (All travel , board, room,
and workshop related expenses are always paid for by Casio).

"Tentative" Schedule of training to be a workshop presenter is:

Middle School Math at Clemson University, June 23-25
(Using the 7400+ Graphing Calculator)
Geometry at Clemson University, June 25-27th
(Using the handheld PC and Geometry Sketchpad Software)
Pre-Calculus/Calculus at Clemson, June 27-29
(Using the handheld PC with Maple Software, and the FX2.0
Calculator)
Integrated Physics and Chemistry, at Clemson, June 27-29
(Using the FX2.0 Calculator, and the EA100 Data Collector)

So if you are interested in being a workshop presenter for Casio/Clemson

we are trying to bring about 30 people from all regions of the country for
each curriculum, and still have about 10 slots available for each of the
curriculums. If you are interested in attending a summer workshop and being
a workshop attendee, please let me know as well.


Workshop Hosts also needed:

Hosting includes providing a clean, comfortable, and adequate
learning environment for about 30 workshop attendees for summer 2000
workshops in July and August. Payment for Hosting the workshop includes one
free workshop registration, and one set of equipment. (About a $700 Value)
Hosting responsibilities also include receiving shipped equipment and
storing it securely. Casio will market the workshops to local school
communities, and will have the workshop if at least 12-15 people sign up.
Overhead Projectors, and Large Screen TV’s might also be needed. So if you
