Hands-On-Physics workshops

To encourage the use of Hands-On-Physics units, the Concord Consortium
is offering workshops in May and June for college and high school
physics teachers. Teachers participating in these workshops will
receive first hand experience building HOP apparatus, and practice with
project-oriented instruction. The cost of this two-day workshop is
$250. Registration is limited to 18 participants in each workshop.

Hands-On-Physics can be an alternative or supplement to standard physics
courses.
Suitable for high school or college level, it is heavily experimental,
project-oriented, technological, low-cost, practical to implement, and
effective for all students. It features sequences of sophisticated
investigations using inexpensive student-built apparatus.
HOP is now being used for courses in High School Project Physics and in
College Technical Physics.

Hands-On-Physics units include the following:

Electricity: Security Systems
Mechanics: Aircart
Sound: Synthesizer
Heat & Temperature: Incubator
Advanced Mechanics: The Great Bungee Jump
Light: Sun Photometer
